We've all been inundated with the recent revelation that our gut health is the prime source of our overall physical physical and mental well-being. Meaning what we eat, how we chew, digest, and process food affects our immunology, our digestive process our mental health and even our skin. If you're a health nut...pardon moi, GURU like me...you suspected this for quite some time (my whole adult life).
I grew up with a mom who 'shlepped' her little girls to Mom & Pop Health food stores in the early 70's! Boy was she ahead of her time!
As I age (attempting that gracefully), I have started to see a drastic change in my skin. Sure, we all sag and dry out but if we feed our insides to stay physically and mentally healthy I pondered is there a connection between mental health and the skin? After all, the skin is the largest organ we have right?
Viola! Our happiness, clarity, anxiety, and even depression affects our skin including it's appearance, texture, and aging process. Our mental health should always be considered a root to all our physical, emotional, and mental concern.
You are what you eat right?
Well, we look how we feel folks.
When you get up and get dressed today and begin your skincare/ makeup routine, look in the mirror and ask yourself - OUT LOUD - How do I feel today? Focus on what is going well in your life, the positives you're working on and practice smiling.
Your skin will take notice and thank you!
